As a result of a totally redesigned program to promote education for women in South Sudan, 14 women from the country are on the Indiana University Bloomington campus this fall to work toward graduate degrees.
“We’ll Be All Right,” a short documentary by Barton Girdwood and Carissa Barrett, will be screened as part of “Indiana Spotlight” at the Heartland Film Festival, which runs Oct. 16 to 25 in Indianapolis. Remarkably, it's the students' first film. The documentary tells the story of a unique Bloomington family and its matriarch.
Recent Indiana University graduates Alex Burtner and Allison Yates and student Aysha Jemison share their overseas study experiences in Greece, Argentina and Asia. Aysha, a junior studying in the IU School of Public Health, hopes to study abroad again before graduating.
